The Bear Bytes Lite
May 9, 2018 - Thank You Edition
The Highlands PTA would like to express a deep, heartfelt THANK YOU to all of our wonderful community who helped make the events this past week an overwhelming success! Staff Appreciation plus the Highlands Walk-A-Jog, 5K Fun Run and Family Festival were only possible thanks to your help - it truly takes a village.
Staff Appreciation Week, April 30 - May 4:
A big shout out to our wonderful room parents! The decorated doors, beautiful flowers and classroom festivities were amazing and much appreciated by all. Thank you to Laura Laguna and her team - including Missy Palaya, Dani Dejardin and Julie Costantino, among many others - for pulling together all of the special touches and decorations that made this year’s theme, ‘Star Wars, You Are The Force That Awakens Us’, truly something special. Your work made the effort to thank our school teachers and staff seamless.
The PTA would also like to thank our 53 families for their donations to the staff room festivities last week, and to Dianda’s Bakery in Crystal Springs for the delicious cookies devoured during the staff lunch. Our teachers truly felt the love!
Walk A Jog, May 5th
We had an incredible event last Saturday, thanks to the help and support of so many people. Our goal to foster the school’s diverse community, raise money for our children’s education, and promote health, vitality and sportsmanship for our kiddos not only met up with our hopes but they surpassed our expectations! We hear kids on campus this week talking about how they can’t wait for the next race and carnival event. Many of the kids caught their first thrill of a foot race and want more!
None of this was possible without the support of our valued sponsors and volunteers. On behalf of the Walk-A-Jog Crew we would like to extend a special thank you to the following businesses and volunteers who went above and beyond to make this event a success:
Glenn Sennett Realtor
Roland Bardony Tennis Academy
Dr. Laleh Vakili – Pediatric Dentistry
K & T Learning
Party With 630
Rock Salt Pilates
Orange Theory Fitness
Etienne Vick and Stacy Clark
The 76 Station on Polhemus
Beauty & the Cutie Photography
Crystal Springs Cleaning Center
Myisha’s Passion 4 Skin Care
The Karsh Family
Angus and Lori McGilpin
San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office
The Verducci Family
Volunteer Borel Students
And most of all, we thank all of our Highlands’ parent and teacher community for their support and volunteer time. We couldn’t have done it without you!
