UPDATES & VOLUNTEERING
HIGHLANDS SCIENCE FAMILY NIGHT 2.0 WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!
Exploration and discovery experiences filled the evening making many feel the wonder and excitement of science. There was Storm Troopers, Indiana Jones, Virtual Reality, Hissing cockroaches, Science Fair posters, things to build, things to roll, things to dig, and many, many more THINGS! Thank you to all that attended and we look forward to seeing you next year!
A huge shout out to: -Allison Hasenkamp for her months of hard work planning and organizing the science activities and demos.
-Rachel Jordan for letting us borrow the amazing materials from the Exploratorium and all of the help behind the scenes.
-Sarah Stanley for helping organize the Science Fair posters by collecting/returning the posters and distributing the medals to all of our amazing students. And making the delicious take home marshmallow building baggies!
-Dale Webster for running the super cool Google Cardboard Virtual Reality experience.
-Julie Farand and Francis Gosselin for organizing and developing the Chemistry discovery station.
-Stephen Neal (Indiana Jones) and Jim Bobowski (Professor Dinosaur) for getting into character and really making the fossil dig special.
-All the amazing volunteers who helped set up, staff, and clean up the discovery stations and made the night extra special and possible for our community.
-All of the awesome students, families, and teachers who participated in the fabulous Science Fair! It was a proud moment for the kids to see their projects on display. My favorites were the ones that the kids wrote and designed themselves! It was an amazing to see what our Highlands kids can do.
-Highlands PTA for providing the funds to make this event possible.
Thank you again for the opportunity to bring such a incredible event to our community! -Rachael Webster
