Wednesday evening will be our Back to School Night for grades 1st-5th. Please attend this evening by meeting in the LGI at 6 p.m. There we will introduce our teachers, speak to you about the PTA, Ed Foundation, and Parcel Tax V. At 6:30, you will be able to meet your child’s teacher and hear about their class.
Please note that both Wednesday and Thursday are minimum days. Friday will be a non-student day, as teachers will be engaged in professional development.
We look forward to seeing you Wednesday evening and hope you enjoy your longer Labor Day weekend.

HIGHLANDS SMART FUND NEEDS YOUR HELP
WE GIVE BECAUSE WHILE A PUBLIC SCHOOL EDUCATION IS FREE, AN ENRICHED EDUCATION IS NOT
We have chosen Highlands Elementary School because we want the best public school education for our children. Contributions to the Highland’s SMART Fund are used entirely to support enrichment programs and services for our students.
SMART represents the primary focus areas of Highlands PTA’s fundraising efforts: Science, Math, Art, Reading and Technology. These areas are our primary focus, but we also fund other activities to help support the whole child. The SMART Fund is managed in conjunction with other fundraising efforts by the Highlands Elementary School PTA.
Please donate to support these Highlands SMART fund and our children. Everyone can help and make a difference, and we are striving for 100% participation from our parent community.
Register and/or log-into our Highlands PTA website. This is the best way to have easy access to our school's community, including our weekly Bear Bytes newsletter, participating in our PTA membership, purchasing spirit wear and donating to our SMART fund. Returning families, please log-in to your existing account to update your family's information.
If you’re interested in being a room parent this year, we still need room parents for the following classes:
TK/K: Ms. Murray
3rd Grade: Ms. Gervang
4th Grade: Ms. Phipps, Mr. Perry
Room parent orientation will be held on Thursday 6 September at 6pm in the LGI. Please attend even if you are a returning room parent as there might be new ways we will be addressing old issues and you might also be able to contribute your experiences to the new volunteers.
