GET INVOLVED — VOLUNTEER!
When adults volunteer, all students benefit! There are many opportunities for parents and community members to get involved!
The PTA is a group of committed parents who are trying to help support all of the kids and teachers at Highlands do the best they can given what life is throwing at us. There are many small ways that you can donate your time and contribute your expertise to help us come together to build a sense of community that can raise all of our spirits.
All of us are busy, but we would really appreciate any time you can give to help us with our effort to bring as much positive energy right now to our kids and teachers.

Lowdown - Highlands Community Correspondent
2/6/2024 4:59 pm
Seeking a Highlands Elementary Parent or Caregiver who is also a local resident in the Highlands, and will serve as an information channel between our two beloved communities! This person will write a monthly article for the local newsletter, "The Lowdown," which highlights some of the goings-on in our elementary world. Each article can be brief and informative or a little more colorful and informative - up to you! Our goal is to keep the local community in touch with and invested in our local school. Consistent communication fosters rich connection with our neighbors, and a safer, healthier and happier community surrounds us all.
Contact Heather Rarden (hcamp714@yahoo.com) if interested or for more information.

We are looking for a new leader to help next year's Project Wee Care Drives take place on campus. This role is a simple and effective way to give back to the greater community and encourage a model of taking care of others for our children. The role can be as simple as coordinating drive dates and marketing in the Bear Bytes, or as rich as organizing a team of helpers to display posters and fliers around campus as a drive nears, and even schedule an in-person or zoom field trip to the San Mateo Samaritan House for our students! The sky is the limit. All donations help our local community in need.
