Thank you for volunteering to be a Room Parent at Highlands!
Your time and effort help our teachers and our school have a more enriched experience. Below you will find information and documents to help you throughout the school year.
Recommended room parent tasks:
- Initial meeting with the teacher to discuss teacher needs & preferences and class party dates, etc.
- Send welcome email to the families via ParentSquare (room parents have access to message the student's parents)
- Collect funds for the year (~$20-40 per student). These funds pay for presents for teachers (teacher's birthday, teacher appreciation week, etc.) and class parties.
- Plan class/grade parties (check scope of work with teacher)
- Inform parents about school and PTA events

The SMART Fund is Highlands PTA’s annual giving campaign and helps fund programs, enrichment, teacher support, events, and resources that directly benefit Highlands students throughout the year.
