Morning Drop-Off Reminder – Newport Street

We’d like to remind families that the yellow drop-off zone on Newport Street is intended for quick pull-up, drop-off, and departure only. For safety reasons, vehicles should not be parked or left unattended in this zone.

Recently, we’ve noticed cars stopping and parking in the drop-off area while students are walked into the building. This creates congestion and unsafe conditions for other families who are trying to use the zone as intended.

If your child needs to be walked into school, please park on the opposite side of Newport Street or on a nearby side street before escorting them in. Keeping the drop-off zone moving helps ensure a smoother and safer arrival for everyone.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping keep our school community safe during morning arrival!

Reminders for parents at Drop-Off and Pick-Up:
  • Drive slowly and pay attention to families and students walking
  • Use the crosswalk when crossing the street
  • Always use the walkways and sidewalks (do not walk through the parking lot area)
  • Park only in designated street parking spaces
  • Cars cannot be left unattended in the drop-off/pick-up zone
  • Do not park in the bus zone
  • The red zones are for emergency personnel only
  • The parking lot in front of the school is for staff only and is not to be used as a place to turn around, drop off, or pick up your child
  • Refrain from blocking the staff parking lot entrance
  • Please do not double park
  • Our neighbors driveways cannot be used for parking
  • Follow the flow of traffic
  • U-turns in the middle of the street are dangerous for everyone involved
