Classroom Volunteering

Teachers shared volunteer sign-up forms at Back to School Night with opportunities that may include Room Parents, garden helpers, library support, field trips, classroom activities, special programs, and more.

Please connect with your child’s teacher or Room Parent to see where help is still needed in your classroom.

School-Wide PTA Opportunities

PTA volunteer opportunities may include:

• School events and family activities
• Fundraising efforts
• School garden projects
• Communications and website support
• Translation and multilingual outreach
• Committee and leadership roles
• Special projects throughout the year

PTA Leadership & Key Volunteer Openings

• VP Fundraising: Helps lead the PTA’s fundraising efforts, including the SMART Fund and other campaigns that support Highlands programs and activities.

• VP Programs: Helps coordinate and support PTA-sponsored programs, enrichment, and community events throughout the school year.

• Technology Lead: Helps manage and improve the PTA’s digital tools and systems, including the website, Membership Toolkit, Google Workspace/Google for Nonprofits, shared accounts, and other technology projects.

There are lots of ways to get connected. Complete our Volunteer Interest Form, reach out to your child’s teacher or Room Parent, or connect with a PTA Board member and we’ll help point you in the right direction.

Questions about volunteering? Please check with your child’s teacher or the Highlands school office for any district requirements related to your volunteer role and reference the latest district wide requirements.

Other Volunteer Need: Morning Drop-Off Support

We are currently seeking parent volunteers to assist with morning drop-off while the school continues its search for a crossing guard on Bunker Hill.

Volunteer Times Needed (Monday–Friday):

• 7:50–8:05 a.m.
• 8:05–8:20 a.m.

Interested volunteers may indicate their availability using the form below.

Please note that volunteers must be fingerprinted through the district. The school will provide safety vests, stop signs, and training.
