Math Night At Highlands
You know what seems odd to me? Numbers that aren't divisible by two. =P

Join in the fun at our 15th biennial Walk-A-Jog and the End-of-Year Family Festival!
For this year’s event, students will raise precious funds which support a wide range of programs at Highlands, including the arts, technology, physical education, assemblies, and academic support programs.
The course will be running up and down Lexington Avenue with the Festival taking place at the Highlands Recreation center, 1851 Lexington Avenue. The races for Grades TK through 5th will be held from 9:15 to 11:00am. Registration for the kids’ race starts at 8:30am.
There will be great prizes for the top student fund raiser and for the boy and girl students in each grade who finish first.
We invite all students to participate and all families to come cheer on the participants. The End-of-Year Family Festival will include fun and festivities for the entire family including bounce houses, great food and many more events to be announced!
This year we will also be running a 5K Adult Fun Run beginning at 8 AM!
Science Family Fun Night is June 6th! This year we are excited to feature private and corporate sponsors. Do you or someone you know love science/technology or work for a science/technology company and want to bring more science to our kids at Highlands? The Science Night Committee is looking for sponsors for hands-on science and technology demo stations. If this sounds awesome just contact Rachael Webster (email@example.com) for more information!!

Scholastic Book Fair Raises $13,000 for Highlands!
The Book Fair was a festive finale for our Literacy Month events and activities! From sneak peak teacher and classroom previews, TK-Kindergarten Night, Family Night, lunchtime and after school sales, gift basket raffle prizes, visits from Clifford the Big Red Dog, and Community Day – it was a purr-fectly packed week!! We hope the fair and literacy events sparked a love of reading and that everyone got their paws on some good books!
A great big, Highlands Bear Hug to our families, staff, and community – our 2018 Book Fair raised approximately $13,000 in Scholastic Dollars for our library and classrooms! The library was able to use $1000 of those Scholastic Dollars to purchase books directly from the Fair. Cash donations for the Cats vs. Dogs competition and from the El Super Taco Man food truck gave the library an additional $200 to spend at the Fair! Several amazing books were also gifted to the library and to our teachers from our generous Highlands students and families! Thank you for shopping and supporting our school!
